RV Wall Repair, Panel Replacement & Leak Restoration Repair

Strong, quiet RV walls keep the coach solid and comfortable. Stained vinyl, soft spots, wall delamination, loose batten strips, or a slide wall that rubs point to water, movement, or weak mounting.

Traveling RV Technicians (TRVT) provides mobile wall repair, panel replacement, re-bonding, insulation upgrades, waterproof bath/galley refits, and clean trim/paint or wallpaper finishes. We fix the leak first, then rebuild with the right materials—so walls stay straight, sealed, and rattle-free.

Assessment First: Moisture • Structure • Finish

We start with data, not guesses.

  • Moisture readings and inspection behind outlets/trim to find the real source.

  • Check for thermal bridges, loose fasteners, and hollow spots from failed lamination.

  • Map wiring/fixtures so repairs don’t pierce hidden runs.

  • You get a ranked plan: stop water → stabilize structure → restore finish.

Panel Materials That Work in RVs

We match panel to room and risk:

  • Vinyl wallboard over luan (OEM look, light weight) with new batten strips and screw-cover trim.

  • Azdel composite wall panels (won’t absorb water; great in leak-prone zones).

  • FRP / PVC wall panels for showers, baths, and galley backs where steam and splashes live.

  • Birch ply or lightweight honeycomb for accent walls and mounting stability.

  • Wainscot and cap molding where scuffs or chair backs hit.

  • Adhesives are chosen for each surface (contact cement, construction adhesive, or OEM acrylics) and rolled to a full bond.

Structure & Backing: Solid Walls That Hold

Light RV walls need real support. We:

  • Add furring strips, aluminum/wood cleats, and corner blocking where screws won’t bite.

  • Rebuild loose partitions, shower surrounds, and cabinet tie-ins with through-bolts to structure.

  • Set French cleats / Z-clips behind heavy items (TVs, mirrors, cabinets) so weight rides on framing, not thin paneling.

  • Result: hardware stays tight, doors close quietly, and finishes don’t crack.

Slide Walls & Facings (No More Rubs)

Slides punish wall facings and trim. We:

  • Square slide openings, reset facing boards, and add low-friction wear strips.

  • Correct reveal so slides clear batten strips and outlets.

  • Seal corner seams with butyl + polyurethane and cap with matching trim.

  • Your slide moves smoothly without chewing the wall.

Bath & Galley Walls: Waterproof Where It Counts

Moisture is the enemy. We:

  • Install FRP/PVC wall panels with sealed seams, inside/outside corners, and sanitary base.

  • Reseat backsplashes, set expansion joints, and silicone around sinks & fixtures.

  • Upgrade bath fans and duct paths so steam exits the coach.

  • Clean edges, easy wipe-downs, and no more swelling around faucets.

Insulation, Sound & Thermal Comfort

Thin cavities can still perform. We:

  • Add Thinsulate-class fiber or thin foam with sealed seams in serviceable walls.

  • Break aluminum thermal bridges with foam strips where practical.

  • Target road-noise with MLV + foam decouplers at wheel-well partitions (weight-aware).

  • Warmer in winter, cooler in summer, and quieter over rough roads.

Mounting TVs, Tables & Fixtures (Find the Backer)

We mount without “mystery” anchors:

  • Locate or create backers for TV mounts, towel bars, coat hooks, and fold-down tables.

  • Use proper fasteners (through-bolts, rivnuts, or wood screws into cleats).

  • Route cables through grommets/loom, add strain relief, and label pass-throughs for future service.

  • Nothing tears out, and wires stay tidy.

Wiring Inside Walls: Safe, Labeled, Serviceable

Walls often hide 12-volt and 120-volt runs. We:

  • Map circuits, then drill only where safe; add edge grommets and abrasion sleeves.

  • Keep AC and DC separated, fuse new 12V runs, and verify breaker sizes for 120V additions.

  • Label at the fuse panel, breaker panel, and power distribution centers to prevent short circuits later.

  • Lighting, thermostats, and switches work the same after repairs—just more reliably.
