RV Awning Repair, Replacement & Installation
RV awnings do more than make shade to hide you from those uv rays—they expand your living space, protect your rig from sun and rain, and make camp feel like home.
If you need a new RV awning, a camper awning replacement, or quick help with awning repair, Traveling RV Technicians can help! They provide professional service at your driveway, storage lot, or campsite.
We work on manual and power awnings. We also handle retractable awnings, slide-out (topper) awnings and window awnings. Additionally, we set up complete screen rooms for motorhomes, fifth wheels, travel trailers, and pop-ups.
What We Service (All Makes, Models, and Styles)
We work on all types of RV awnings and camper awnings. This includes brands like Dometic / A&E, Carefree of Colorado, Lippert Solera, Girard, RecPro, ShadePro, and more. Need a trailer awning, motorhome awning, pop-up camper awning, or teardrop trailer awning? We install new systems, replace worn parts, and tune everything so it runs smoothly
Not sure what you need? We can choose the right RV canopy for you including single patio awnings, slide out awnings, window awnings, or a cassette/armless setup for compact vans.
Repair & Replacement Done Right
Fabric torn? Roller tube bent? Motor stuck? We perform full RV awning repair and RV awning replacement:
Fabric replacement (vinyl or acrylic), including best RV awning fabric options and color matching
Arms, brackets, end caps, springs, and torsion assemblies
Motors, switches, and wiring for electric RV awnings and motorized RV awnings
Rails, mounts, and hardware (including RV awning arm replacement parts and bottom mounting brackets)
Patch & tape fixes for minor damage, plus cleaning and protectants to extend fabric life
We carry common RV awning parts for Dometic, Carefree, Lippert Solera, and A&E Systems, that are easy to clean.
Slide-Out & Window Awnings (Shade Where You Need It)
RV slide out awnings (slide toppers) keep debris and rain off the topper roof so seals last longer and slides operate smoothly. We replace slide-out awning fabric, re-tension rollers, and fix water pooling or sagging.
RV window awnings and RV window sun shades can cut glare and interior temps, protecting furniture and electronics. We service Dometic, Carefree, Solera, and RecPro slide toppers and window shades, plus A&E hardware and LCI systems.
Shade Add-Ons: Screens, Rooms, and Sun Protection
Turn shade into living space. We install RV awning screen rooms, zippered shade panels, sun shade screens, and sunscreens that block harsh light while preserving the view. To achieve privacy without blocking fresh air, we can add high quality privacy screens and mesh wind breaks.
Ask about screen room kits for Dometic, Carefree, and Solera—great for family space, pets, and buggy campsites. For maximum coverage, we fit awnings with metal covers (Alumaguard) that protect fabric while traveling or in storage.
Power, Manual, or Armless? Choosing the Right Mechanism
Manual RV awnings are simple and proven. Power awnings (electric) deploy with a switch or remote and can include wind sensors and rain dump features. Armless/cassette awnings create a clean look for vans and smaller rigs.
We will help you compare Carefree power awning, Dometic 9100, Lippert Solera, and Girard options by budget, extension, pitch adjustment, and available LED light packages. Already have the hardware? We also perform awning motor replacement, switch installs, and retract/extend adjustments.

Cleaning, Care, and Life-Extension Tips
Good care adds years to any awning. Rinse fabric often, deep-clean with a best RV awning cleaner or mild solution, and let it dry fully before rolling up. Use protective covers if you store the RV under trees. Deploy shade panels or sun shade screens in hot climates to control UV and heat.
If you see problems like stitching failure, pinholes, delamination, mildew, or black streaks that won’t come off, you need to replace the awning fabric.
Hearing a snap when retracting? A spring may be failing—don’t force it. We can service springs, end caps, and torsion assemblies safely.
Troubleshooting: Fix It or Replace It?
Replace fabric when there are multiple tears, UV cracking, or stretched corners.
Service the arms if the awning leans, binds, or won’t square up.
Check the motor/switch when power awnings stall, stop mid-travel, or only move one way.
Repair the roller if the fabric telescopes unevenly or won’t tension.
Add a wind sensor if sudden gusts are common at your campsites.
If you’re unsure, we’ll inspect the system, price both repair and replacement, and help you choose the value move for your rig and camping style.
